Why journaling is a self care tool you need!
'I need to get this off my chest. It's really bugging me but what if they think I'm crazy when I tell them how I really feel?' You've probably said this phrase before, if not aloud you've said it to yourself. We often crave a confidante who we can share our secrets with, to offload how we feel because we know that we when to do this we will feel 1000x better than before however we frequently worry about how we will be received by the person we talk to. This is why I love journaling (and that I'm that confidante for people when they need it).
How capable are you?
Capability is your ability to perform. This can be your ability to perform academically, socially, professionally, financially, physically, and sexually. How capable you consider yourself to depend on who you listen to. When you listen to anyone other than yourself you will define your capabilities based on someone else’s version of success
Inferiority is a choice
Maybe I am meant to feel inferior as a woman but I have to tell you, I don't. It's not because I haven't felt my fair share of criticism or judgment for being considered less than I am its simply because I know I am no less than anyone. Over International Women's Week this past week, I have enjoyed interviewing a couple of women about how they positively impact the world, I have looked back and laughed on the moments I was underestimated and what I've reveled in is the reality that I don't feel small because I have never believed in playing small.
Socially conscious boss babe Lucy Bloomfield is making a difference
The second lady I interviewed for International Women's Week was boss babe Lucy Bloomfield. This fabulous woman has some serious goal kicking in motion and some insanely great advice. You'll love this post!
The Cancer Warrior- Cielo Superticioso
The first superwoman to feature as part of this International Women's Week celebration is Cielo Superticioso, a passionate teacher who kicks cancer's glutes with positive advocacy in her spare time. I am so pleased to have interviewed her for this International Women's week and to give her a shout out right here where I encourage people daily to 'inspire yourself' to be the best you can be.
HAPPY INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S WEEK!
HAPPY INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY! It is time to celebrate all that is female, our fabulous femininity, our ability to lead, to empathize with others, to communicate our emotional responses to life. We really are different from men in the most beautiful of ways, our difference doesn't make us weak as some would like to suggest but rather incredibly strong.
My new favourite hobby
Thrifting. I have fallen in love with it. Turns out that Facebook Marketplace has become my new BFF. What started out as a smart way to get rid of a couple of items has really stepped up a notch, becoming another stream of income. To be fair, it wouldn't be a stream of income if I hadn't put way too many things into storage a couple of years ago when I first moved to London or if I simply bought only what I needed but I didn't then and so it has become a clever way to get back at least part of what I spent in the past.
14 things I love.
It's love month, so what better month to share my greatest loves! Enjoy! xo
1. Being underestimated
2. Milo on icecream
3. Laughing (especially till I cry)
Forgiveness- a special blogpost by Rashdah Hameed
“It’s one of the greatest gifts you can give yourself, to forgive. Forgive everybody” Maya Angelou
Since I have learned to forgive for me life has become a much more beautiful place, I have no burden to carry and I have become more productive! Boiling rage and bitter resentment of being wronged or harmed would make me want to hurt or punish the person that had caused me that pain but not anymore.
Why love is always worth celebrating
Last week we had Valentine's Day, some people who weren't coupled up perhaps may have dreaded the day, hell some couples may have even hated it because of the expectations they subliminally felt but whether you love or loathe Valentine's Day, February is a superb month to take a pause and celebrate love itself, whether you are single, taken, divorced, widowed or a child still grasping the concept.
Be Inspired
On January 21 I became the owner of my own clothing label. Here is the story of how Inspired came to be.
For years I have been a writer, always creating original ideas with the purpose of helping others expand their thinking whilst enabling myself to express all the goodness I've learned from being present in my own personal development and the development of others. As a people watcher creating stories has always been pretty easy, people say a lot in their body language alone. What I found through the more I paid attention to peoples' interactions was
10 ways to enjoy your life
Today I am 32! 32! How incredible! I have always loved birthdays and made a big deal about them, encouraged others to do the same. I've spent my birthday in different countries experiencing new things, this year I am glad to be having a quiet birthday doing what I love most- writing, spending time with friends, and enjoying the simple things. I won't lie though birthdays make me teary. When I reflect and I see all the things I love about my life and the people in it there is so much to love. This is why it’s a great conscious decision to sit today and write to my followers, clients, friends, and family. Right here is where all the things I love about come together, rolled up into one awesome career filled with incredible breakthroughs of happiness and success. So today, to celebrate my birthday and all the fabulous ones to come I'm sharing my top tips for life. Enjoy.
What children can teach us about life
I love observing kids and how raw they are. They really say the funniest, most insightful things, they ask the tough questions and sometimes they share the most naïve, hilarious thoughts but their ability to 'just get on with it' is lovely. The more you observe kids the more I want to learn how to capture their childlike nature and teach adults how to embrace the purity of children. Here’s what I have got so far about what children have to teach us about life:
1. Don’t take life too seriously, people usually forget what happens a day or two later and if they don’t who cares, we all make mistakes so just move on.

I broke up with my mobile phone
Two weeks ago, I decided to break up with my mobile phone. It was necessary, it didn’t understand how much it was intruding on my time. Apple wanted to intrude on my conversations with others, my meal times, my privacy in the shower and toilet, it even wanted to be the last one I said good night to and the first one I saw in the morning. Apple was so damn needy and I bought into it. I hated it.
